The Master Water Satin Series: MCA Smart Technology and High Efficiency Systems

Water softening technology has changed dramatically over the last 30 years.  Consumers and homeowners are well aware of the financial and aesthetic benefits of soft water.  The increasing demand from an increasingly knowledgeable consumer base has driven the need for high-efficiency treatment options.  Everything from ion exchange resin, mineral tank design, and advances in control valve technology have lead to dramatically more efficient and better performing systems.  Master Water Conditioning has been the clear choice for water solutions since 1967.  We understand that water has an effect on all aspects of our lives - how quality water affects our well-being, a safer environment, and the best ways to conserve water.  That is why Master Water Conditioning has made large investments in the best technology that the treatment industry has to offer.  Let's take a look at our Satin Series Water Softeners and break down all the benefits.

CONTROL VALVE

Over a decade ago, Master Water Conditioning made a large investment in improving control valves to maximize efficiency and increase performance.   All of the wetted end components of  the valve are common among clack valves, but the electrical components of our valve are what set us apart form our competition.  Our internal proprietary circuitry allows for unique customization of cycle times. Also, only our control valve can operate 4 drive motors, including multiple motorized alternating valves and no-hard water bypasses, using just one control valve.  The ability of our board to operate multiple valves and external motors allows us to create unique treatments options like brine recovery systems that reduce salt use and water per regeneration.

Our proprietary clack control valve also allows users to precisely dial in specific settings to maximize efficiency. Fully adjustable timer settings allow for regeneration to be set to on demand or at a specific time and an optional second backwash for unique scenarios.  The Master Water Conditioning Satin Series of softeners perform at 4,311 grains of hardness per pound of salt.  Our MP-MCA Satin series are 113% more efficient in terms of salt savings compared with a traditional water softener that operate at lower efficiency and less capacity.  The other benefits of our high efficiency Satin Series softeners include:

  • Simple to install and program
  • Fewer internal components for easier servicing
  • Less stress on well systems,  septic systems and improved septic performance
  • Lower water bills on municipal water
  • Environmental benefits
    • Less demand on local water sources
    • Significantly reduced sodium and chloride discharge levels
    • More stable aquifer levels typically result in more stable water quality

MINERAL TANK

For years, mineral tank design and function remained stagnant.  The increasing demand for higher flow rates, lower pressure loss, more versatility, and greater capacity for treatment has lead to the creation of the Vortech technology.  The standard tank design relies on a bottom distributor basket in the bottom of the tank that results in uneven water distribution and can lead to channeling through the media in the tank.  Our Satin Softener Series uses the Vortech bottom plate technology.

The unique design of the Vortech plate has multiple benefits including increased treatment capacity, lower backwash regeneration volumes, and less water to drain during regeneration.  The Vortech bottom plate uses the total diameter of the tank which allows for higher service flow rates without increased hardness breakthrough, higher system capacity, and reduced pressure loss.  The more realized utilization of tank diameter, coupled with the angled structure of the underside of the Vortech plate also results in greater bed lift during regeneration, and a swirling action that more effectively rinses softening resin and other treatment medias during regeneration.  The Vortech plate also eliminates the need for sand and gravel used in a traditional distributor basket system.  The Vortech technology will save money through reduced salt usage and decreasing the volume of water used for regeneration.

SOFTENING RESIN

We use Aldex C-800 Water Softening Resin in the sodium form for all of our cation exchange softeners.  Aldex C-800 is a high capacity, high quality, gel-type cation resin capable of meeting the most exacting requirements of household, farm, commercial, institutional and industrial water softeners.  Features of the Aldex C-800 resin include a high capacity for ion exchange, no chlorinated solvents, and strong and durable beads that insure long service life.  Aldex C-800 is tested and certified by WQA according to NSF/ANSI standards 44, 61, and 372 for materials safety only.

CERTIFIED PRODUCT

Master Water Conditioning is a member of the Water Quality Association and uses the WQA product certification program for all of our certified products.  Some water treatment professionals do no go through the rigorous testing and certification of their products like Master Water Conditioning.  Certification is crucial to provide end users products that are safe, reliable, durable and capable of meeting the claims made on its packaging and literature.  More information on the WQA Product Certification can be found at this link.  The Satin Series softeners have the GOLD SEAL Certification and this ensures that the product is constructed or formulated from safe materials, the claims listed on the packaging are backed by test data, and the product will hold up under normal usage conditions.  The Satin Series softeners have a certified flow rate of 16.8 gpm at 15 delta P and certified by WQA to meet the requirement of NSF/ANSI 44.  We take pride that our products are certified and made in the U.S.A.
